Sabrent hopes to hit 14GB/s with its Rocket X5 PCIe 5.0 SSDs

Sabrent, a manufacturer of high-capacity, high-performance SSD drives, is already working on its first PCI Express 5.0 SSD driveand it is doing it with a lot of ambition in mind, because although some manufacturers have already released SSD drives compatible with this generation of PCI Express, Sabrent is working with Phison to ensure they can provide superior performance.

It seems that this dedication is paying off.because although most PCI Express 5.0 SSD drives can reach 10,000MB/s, Sabrent wants to provide at least 14,000MB/s in sequential reads, something they’re getting close to.

Geeknetic Sabrent expects to hit 14GB/s with its Rocket X5 PCIe 5.0 SSDs 1

Preliminary results of its prototypes are giving figures higher than 12,000MB/s of sequential readingas well as slightly lower in terms of writing, as we see in the image on these lines, which also show spectacular performance in random loads with speeds close to 6,000MB/sfigures that just a generation ago we could expect to see in sequential velocity fields.

The Sabrent Rocket X5 PCIe 5.0 is not yet a finished productthere is still a lot of work ahead, and therefore, it is not prudent to believe that we will see it in the market soon, so if we are looking for the best PCI Express 5.0 drive and we are not in a hurry, waiting for Sabrent to release this SSD is an option.
