They report an attack against the director of a women’s prison in Guayaquil, Ecuador

( Spanish) –– The Ecuadorian Police reported this Thursday what they called an “armed attack” against the director of the Guayas No. 2 Deprivation of Liberty Center, Mishel Mayorga, in Guayaquil.

The attack “was repelled by police officers, who were seriously injured,” he explained.

In a Photography published by the institution, a vehicle is observed that appears to have impacts from bullets fired from a firearm.

The National Comprehensive Care Service for Adults Deprived of Liberty and Adolescent Offenders (SNAI) published a statement on social networks rejecting what happened in the women’s prison and said it had activated security and intelligence protocols.

The SNAI added that it works in coordination with the National Police.
