At least 16 people have died and more than a hundred have been injured this Tuesday due to a strong explosion registered in Gulistan, in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, as reported by security forces.
The Fire Department has indicated that the explosion took place around 4:45 p.m. near a bus stop, although the causes of the incident are unknown at the moment.
At the scene of the events there are eleven firefighters, who are working on search and rescue work, as explained by a senior officer of the Corps, Rashed bin Khaled.
The explosion has affected several buildings in the area, although none of them has collapsed, according to information from the newspaper ‘The Daily Star’. Medical sources have indicated that at least 140 people have been transferred to a Dhaka hospital.
