It is expected that, as a result of nearshoring, foreign direct investment (FDI) arriving in Mexico will increase. Grupo Financiero Base expects the country to receive a record figure of 42 billion dollars this year, said Gabriela Siller, director of economic-financial analysis at Banco Base.

In 2022, according to figures from the Ministry of Economy, more than 35,200 million dollars of foreign direct investment arrived in Mexico.
