Seems to be that a new ransomware has affected enough critical infrastructure in the United States so that it is the country’s own government that has warned of its existence, and that is that according to what we read in TechCrunchit seems that the Royal ransomware is causing problems in key parts of the country.
Specifically, Royal is attacking infrastructure for manufacturing, communication, education and health organizationsso in general we find malware that can have severe consequences in the real world, and not only the loss of files as always happens in these cases.
This notice comes after another warning took into account in December 2022 that Royal was severely attacking the US healthcare sector, although it seems that it has expanded both the type of objectives they are targeting and the countries they are focusing on, so it would not be surprising if it arrives in Spain at some point.
It should be noted that the Royal hacker group has been in operation since the beginning of 2022, but they used the Zeon ransomware, something that changed with the development of this new ransomware called Royalwhich is wreaking havoc in critical areas of the country.
