MALAYSIA
More than 35,000 Malaysians have been forced to leave their homes due to the floods caused by the torrential rains of recent days. There are three confirmed deaths so far. The most affected state is Johor, in the south of the country.
TURKEY
The electoral alliance formed by six opposition parties will announce on March 6 the sole candidate to challenge Recep Tayyip Erdogan in the presidential elections. Despite the effects of the recent earthquake, which left more than 45,000 victims in the country, the government confirmed that the vote will take place on May 14.

By 2035 half of the world’s population will be classified as “obese” or “overweight”. Along with Africa, low- and middle-income countries in Asia will see the largest increase in cases, according to the World Organization Against Obesity.

According to estimates by the Washington-based CSIS, the Russians have suffered more casualties in the Ukraine than in any war since 1945. Between 60,000 and 70,000 soldiers were killed and an estimated minimum of 200,000 to 250,000 dead and seriously wounded, at a rate of almost 6,000 victims per month.
