23 Feb. (Portaltic/EP) –
Rovio Entertainment has announced that it has removed the version of Rovio Classics: Angry Birds from the official Google Play app store, due to “the impact of the game” on its portfolio.
The company has published a statement in which he comments that he has studied the case of this video game and that he has decided, in the case of the App Store, to keep this title under another name, since it will be renamed Red’s First Flight. This version, on the other hand, is pending a review.
The developer, who also integrates into the ‘e-store’ of Google other versions of the video game, such as Angry Birds 2, Angry Birds Friends and Angry Birds Journey, has commented that it will remove Rovio Classics: Angry Birds from this platform.
Despite the deletion of this application, which until now could be downloaded for 1.19 euros, it will continue to be playable on devices where it was previously downloaded “even after it has been delisted.”
Rovio’s Senior Brand and Community Development Manager, known on Twitter as Buck, has specified that the company has taken this measure because the title “is negatively affecting” to other of their games and that “if those other games don’t improve and grow, the perspective of the entire company changes.”
It should be remembered that Rovio Classics: Angry Birds was not the original game released in 2009 for iOS and Maemo that It reached the rest of the app stores in 2012.. This disappeared from the download and purchase platforms in 2019 due to compatibility problems.
It was at the beginning of April of last year when Rovio announced the return of the title with its new name, a version that it kept all aspects of the original video game and it worked in the same way, with the same objectives and with extra content.
