The Ukrainian Army has responded in the last 24 hours to some 90 Russian attacks directed mainly against areas of northeastern and eastern Ukraine, where the largest concentrations of fighting between both sides. As reported this Thursday by the General Staff of the Ukrainian Army, the Russian offensive is concentrated in the region of Kharkiv, in the northeast, and in the neighbors of Lugansk and Donetsk, in the east, both bordering Russia. “Ukraine has repelled attacks nearly Kupianskin the east of the Kharkiv region, not far from neighboring Lugansk, and in the towns of Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Shakhtarskin Donetsk”, where, according to the General Staff, “Russia is concentrating its main offensive efforts”. Precisely, in the strategic town of Bakhmut, the Ukrainian Army has ensured that the confrontations continue “street by street”, given that the control of the area would allow either side to have a safe corridor to transport weapons and soldiers. “Local Russian-backed militias and private mercenary groups, such as the wagner groupbacked by the Kremlin, have been helping Russian regular forces in the area and have suffered heavy losses,” the Ukrainian army was quoted as saying by local agencies.
