Russia’s permanent representative to the United Nations, Vasili Nebenzia, assured this Wednesday in an emergency session before the United Nations General Assembly that the West’s participation in the war in Ukraine is increasingly “direct”.

“The involvement of the West, from indirect to direct, is developing more and more, and the consequences are being felt everywhere: from the food and energy crisis caused by Western sanctions to the undermining of the Nord Stream, for which they will have to answer,” he said.

In this sense, he has ruled that Moscow perceives the war in Ukraine “as a war with the West for survival.” Thus, he has ensured that the “search for a solution” to the conflict should no longer be with kyiv, but with Western countries, mainly Washington.

Nebenzia has thus indicated that the United States and Europe have “formed” and “armed” Kiev, “a truly authoritarian, despotic regime, which has systematically destroyed the opposition and everything that could be linked in any way with Russia”, according to what he has collected. the TASS news agency.

Finally, he has defended the amendments presented by Belarus, since the current text presented by kyiv will not contribute to “a peaceful solution” to the conflict. “I urge everyone to vote against this draft resolution,” she has concluded.

Ukraine’s draft resolution includes, among other measures, the withdrawal of Russian troops and the end of attacks on Ukrainian soil, and will be voted on Wednesday by the United Nations General Assembly in an emergency session.
