Valve has announced an update for Steam Deck which allows users to copy a game already installed on a PC to the console over a local network, without the need to download the title from the internet.
This feature is part of the latest platform update released on February 17 and available for the Beta and Preview channels, which can be accessed from the menu System settings.
This latest version includes a number of new features, such as the correction of the problem where the screen would blur after leaving a game or the reduction of flickering in the background during navigation on the home screen.
The most prominent functionality of this new update is the ability to copy files from Steam existing from one computer to another or to a Steam Deck console over a local area network “without having to download and install from a Steam content server on the internet,” as stated. it’s a statement.
The manufacturer has commented that, thanks to this new modality, Internet traffic is reduced and allows installations or updates to be accelerated. This functionality is available either for PC-PC or for PC-Steam Deck, as long as both the sender and the receiver are registered in Steam Beta.
