The Ingenuity helicopter on Mars, the first powered aircraft under control on another world, has completed its 43rd flight, which has been the longest in almost a year.

Ingenuity traveled 390 meters through the Martian surface for 145.99 seconds, and at an altitude of 12 meters above the Jezero crater on Mars, where it is deployed together with the Perseverance rover, with which it reached the red planet two years ago, reports JPL (Jet Propulsion Laboratory) on his Twitter account.

According to the forecast for this flight, the objective of the flight was to reposition the device with a movement in a northwesterly direction in which he took new photographs.

At 1.8 kilograms in weight, half a meter in height and 1.2 meter in rotor diameter, Ingenuity is the first controlled powered aircraft deployed on another world. It made its maiden flight on April 19, 2021.
