The Palestinian National Council (PNC), the main Palestinian legislative body, has condemned that the Israeli Parliament has approved a law to strip the citizenship of people convicted of terrorism who receive funds delivered by the Palestinian Authority, denouncing the “hate policy” of Israel.
“(This law indicates) the policy of hate, extremism and criminal government dictatorship with its racist goals of eliminating the Palestinian presence, especially in the city of Jerusalem,” PNC chief Ruhi Fatu said in a statement. .
In addition, he has regretted this rule because “it will result in mass deportations under false pretenses, threatening all who are not Jews so that it becomes a racist Jewish state that does not recognize others, especially the original inhabitants of the country, both Muslims as Christians.”
In this sense, he added that “the consequences of this racist law will lead to more crimes and abuses against non-Jews”, a measure that “shows the out-of-control madness of racism and extremism” in Israel.
Likewise, the Palestinian prime minister, Mohamed Shtayé, has indicated that this law is a “racist practice and a flagrant violation of International Law”, asking the UN, the United States and the European Union to pressure Israel to cancel the regulations, according to the news portal Al Quds.
Shtayé has warned of the dangers of perpetuating and circulating that policy as a “slow deportation of Palestinians who resist the occupation and reject the systematically practiced policies of persecution, racism and ethnic cleansing.”
The Israeli Parliament approved this Wednesday with 94 votes in favor and ten against a legislation that amends the Citizenship Law, showing a consensus between the government coalition, made up of ultra-Orthodox and ultra-right parties, and the opposition formations.
