US federal agents have arrested four suspects in Florida accused of having played a key role in the plot that led to the assassination of Haitian President Jovenel Moise in 2021, authorities said Tuesday.
Moise’s murder in 2021 left a political vacuum in the Caribbean nation and emboldened powerful gangs that act as de facto authorities in much of the country’s capital.
Seven people were previously detained by US authorities in connection with the murder, the Justice Department reported.
