This very week there was the drop in YouTube broadcasts commonly known as “the LoFi girl”, some broadcasts that simply consisted of a continuous streaming, 24 hours a day, of mainly calm music that greatly helps the concentration of its listeners.
Nevertheless, a brand called FMC Music Sdn Bhd submitted a copyright complaint to the channel via YouTube to shut down these broadcasts, something that apparently would have been done by hackers instead of the legitimate owners of the channel, although for now it is not known for sure. This, together with the already more than proven fact that YouTube is not careful with these claimscaused the closure.
As we see on Twitter, the claim has been determined as false and the content has been returned to the channel, something that could take up to 48 hours in some cases. However, as we mentioned, even here you can see the wrongdoing of YouTube, which has acted quickly because it is a high-profile channel.
Many users share their bad experiences where YouTube has ignored smaller creators who have suffered similar false claims.or even “copyright trolls”, companies that act in a similar way to “patent trolls” but on platforms like YouTube, taking advantage of the null control that exists on the platform in this regard.
