The Queen Consort of the United Kingdom, Camila, has tested positive for coronavirus and has proceeded to cancel her public engagements scheduled for this week, according to the BBC, citing a Buckingham statement.
Said letter includes that Camila suffers from cold symptoms, although it is emphasized that the queen consort is “in good spirits” and resting. Hours before the statement, the royal family had already postponed an act for Camila scheduled for Tuesday.
At first, Buckingham had pointed out that Camila was canceling her trip to the Western Midlands due to a “seasonal illness”. Monarchy sources cited by the BBC emphasize that Carlos III is not expected to modify his agenda.
The queen consort already tested positive for coronavirus almost a year ago in an outbreak that was also a victim of Charles III, Prince of Wales at that time. The kings have urged the population to get vaccinated against COVID-19 and both have received booster shots.
