This Saturday an 8-year-old boy died who was intentionally run over by a Palestinian on Friday near the Jewish colony of Ramot, in East Jerusalem.

The father of the three, a 42-year-old man, remains hospitalized, like the other two men in their 20s who are in serious condition.
The man responsible for the attack, Hussein Qaraqa, 31, is an Israeli-Arab resident of the Isawiya neighborhood in East Jerusalem. According to eyewitness accounts, he rammed his vehicle into a group of Israelis who were waiting at a bus stop. Later he was shot at by civilians, although the person responsible for his death would be an off-duty police officer.
The Israeli authorities have revealed that Qaraqa had mental problems and had been released from a psychiatric hospital in northern Israel just a few days ago.
In any case, Israel counts the incident as a terrorist attack and has already arrested ten relatives of Qaraqa, including his parents, a brother, his wife and his landlord. The Israeli government has announced that his house will be evicted and closed with a view to his demolition.
The Israeli National Security Minister, Itamar Ben Gvir, appeared at the scene after the attack and reiterated his proposal to establish the death penalty for “terrorists”, as well as a legislative initiative that allows the Police to carry out searches without a warrant.
Meanwhile, Defense Minister Yoav Galant has imposed economic sanctions on 87 “terrorists and family members” residents of East Jerusalem and has approved the embargo of millions of shekels belonging to Palestinian prisoners who receive payments from the Palestinian Authority.
