Israeli settlers kill a Palestinian in the West Bank

11 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) –

A Palestinian was killed this Saturday in the town of Qarawat Bani, in the West Bank, by shots from Israeli settlers who attacked the town.

The Israeli NGO Yesh Din has denounced that “a large group” of armed settlers moved from the settlement of Havat Yair to the town of Qarawat Bani.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health has reported the death of a 27-year-old man identified as Mithkal Suleiman al Rayan who received a bullet wound to the head and died shortly after.

An Israeli Army spokesman explained that the military were sent to the scene and arrived after the incident, so they did not participate in it. The Israeli Police will investigate what happened.

A video broadcast on social networks shows settlers firing from a hill and Palestinians on a street in the town. One of them drags another who is injured, Al Rayan.

With this death there are already 46 Palestinians killed in actions by the security forces and Israeli settlers so far this year, including 9 minors and an elderly woman. Up to 31 Israelis have been killed in the latest Palestinian attacks that have sparked a security operation that has resulted in more than 2,500 arrests.
