The special interest group (NEXTfor its acronym in English) of Bluetooth announced this Tuesday the completion of the range of specifications that will define LE Audiothe next generation of wireless audio that will begin to include the new devices before the end of the year.

The organization that watches over the development of the standards of this technology announced at the beginning of 2020 during its participation in the Consumer Electronics Fair (CES) that, by the end of that year, it would close the terms that will define Bluetooth LE Audio, just like The agency reported on its website.

The Covid-19 pandemic delayed the plans of the SIG, which this Tuesday announced the finalization of the range of specifications that will include the next generation of Bluetooth audio in a press release posted on your page.

From now on, manufacturers can start including support for the new standard in their new devices. According to the organization, the first products that integrate Bluetooth LE Audio may arrive before the end of this year.

MORE EFFICIENCY AND QUALITY, AMONG OTHER ADVANTAGES

One of the main novelties included under the umbrella of Bluetooth LE Audio is the low complexity communication codec (LC3) that will allow greater energy efficiency and better sound quality.

Another new feature of Bluetooth LE Audio is auracast, which allows you to connect multiple devices to a single audio source. This feature opens the door to, for example, pairing two or more pairs of wireless headphones with a single smartphone.

LE Audio will also support the development of Bluetooth hearing aids that can bring the benefits of this technology to people with hearing loss.
