Microsoft is embroiled in the arduous task of acquiring Activisionsomething that Sony wants to prevent actively and passively, alleging the tremendous damage that could occur in the event that Microsoft removed the Call of Duty saga from the PlayStation 5, despite a multitude of statements by Microsoft that this would not happen.
Now, after several refusals, Microsoft has tried to investigate Sony’s reasons for trying to prevent the purchase at all costs with a subpoenawhich is nothing more than a request for documentation, generally internal, to assess the situation, and which Sony has without hesitation labeled harassment – despite being a standard legal procedure.
Sony’s reason for this is the request for performance reports from SIE, the company’s console division, although there are complaints also related to the extent of the information requested, as well as the cost that this will have for Sony, the same company that is forcing Microsoft to generate deals and contracts one after the other only to see them all rejected.
Without a doubt, the only company that is afraid is Sonybecause Nintendo first accepted the 10-year equality agreement that has been discussed more than oncewhile Valve is confident enough to not even need it.
