The United States authorities have reported this Thursday that they have imposed sanctions against nine entities, six of them Iranian, for the sale to Tehran of petrochemical products and crude oil.
The Treasury Department has indicated in a statement that it has included in its “black list” of sanctions six Iranian companies involved in the distribution of this type of product, among which are the Amir Kabir Petrochemical Company and the Simorgh Petrochemical Company. , among other.
To them are added the entities Asia Fuel PTE and Unicious Energy PTE, two companies based in Singapore that would also have carried out this type of sale, as well as a ninth Malaysian entity.
According to the text, these organizations have played an “important role in manufacturing and supplying these types of products valued at millions of dollars to buyers in Asia.”
For his part, the Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, has indicated that this decision is part of the “continued efforts by the United States to strengthen the sanctions imposed against the Iranian oil sector and stop the country’s attempts to circumvent the sanctions”.
