However, many in the state of Florida, community leaders, organizations, the ordinary citizen, are opposing this legislation. Giffords did a poll late in the election cycle last year in Miami, which showed that more than 65% of those polled opposed carrying guns without a permit. Florida requires 1,200 hours of training to obtain a barber license, 500 hours for a massage therapist license, and 240 hours for a manicurist license. If this state approves carrying without a permit, zero hours of training will be required to carry a loaded firearm in public.
