The Civil Aeronautics presented the consolidated report for 2022 on the mobilization of passengers and cargo transportation by air.

According to the figures, delivered by the Directorate of Air Transport and Aerocommercial Affairsduring 2022, 48,004,000 passengers were mobilized in Colombia.
This represents an increase of 57.2% of the people mobilized in 2021, that is, 17,459,000 people more than the previous year when a total of 30,545,000 passengers were mobilized.
In contrast to the year 2019, in 2022, 6,704,000 more passengers were mobilized, which represents a growth of 16.2%. Of the total number of passengers who moved by air in 2022, 32,742,000 did so to and from national airports and 15,262,000 to and from airports around the world.

In 2022, the airlines that operate in Colombia transported 886,606 tons of cargo and mail. This represents an increase of 5% compared to what was transported in 2021 with 844,694 tons.
According to the Minister of Transportation, Guillermo Francisco Reyes González, “This is a remarkable and absolutely important achievement for the aviation industry and the aviation sector in general. But it is also a sign of the commitment of the National Government, Civil Aeronautics and the entire supply chain and people who facilitate the operation of the aircraft. Undoubtedly, this year 2023 we are also going to break records in the mobilization of passengers and cargo in Colombia”.

The Director General of Civil Aeronautics, Sergio París Mendoza, stated that “We must make a heartfelt appreciation to each and every one of the people who make it possible for a plane to be in the air; from air traffic controllers the aeronautical firefighters, the operational, administrative, technical personnel, air operators, pilots, flight attendants, and those who with their efforts guarantee every day that Colombia can fly with efficiency, safety and competitiveness. The challenges are immense and we are up to the challenges that 2023 brings”.
According to historical figures, 2022 was the most representative year in history for aviation in Colombia.
