At least three people were killed and four others were injured in a shooting in Los Angeles, California, on January 28.
Los Angeles Police Department Sgt. Frank Preciado confirmed the shooting occurred after 2:30 a.m. in an upscale Los Angeles neighborhood called Beverly Crest.
Of the seven people who were shot, four were outside a vehicle and three were inside.
The injured were taken to a nearby hospital and are in critical condition, police said. Their identities have not been revealed.
It is unknown at this time if there are any suspects in custody.
Despite the state having some of the toughest gun laws in the nation and the lowest rates of gun deaths, this is the sixth shooting in California so far this month, according to authorities.
For the third consecutive year, the United States recorded more than 600 mass shootings in 2022, according to the Armed Violence File.
