Although MacBooks with M2 processors have not yet reached the general public, it is clear that there are several reviewers who they are testing with several tools the performance of the new Apple processor, something that is done, among other tools, with Geekbench.
Results have been seen from both the Apple M2 inside the MacBook Pro and the MacBook Airand to the surprise of surely no one, the results are basically identical due to that Geekbench is a relatively short benchmark that does not overload the MacBook Air’s passive heatsinkone of the main performance differences with the MacBook Pro, which has an active heatsink with a fan.
As we see in the image, the processor works at a base frequency of 3.49 GHz, without knowing its Turbo frequency if it has it, and if we compare the results with those of the MacBook Air with M1 processor, which achieved a score of about 1700 points in a thread and about 7400 points in multithreadingwe can see an interesting performance improvement.
The MacBook Air entered its reservation period on July 8, while the day of shipments is scheduled for July 15, when we will probably see the reviews to which these performance results correspond.
