There is no doubt that one of the most outstanding video game sagas of the open world genre in recent years is Far Cry. Ubisoft already explored, even taking the idea to the prehistoric world with the Far Cry video game in 2016. Unfortunately, players have been waiting since 2021 for a new franchise title.
According to the latest reports, the developer company would be planning to launch two games by mid-2025: Far Cry 7 and a multiplayer title. Insider Tom Henderson was the one who provided the first information about it.
A new Far Cry on the way
He explained that it was possibly a joint development so that everything comes in the same game, but that the multiplayer is finally separated in another video game. The project bore the name of Project Talisker.
Now, the code name of Far Cry 7 would be Project Blackbird, while the multiplayer is Project Maverick, who would be under the development of Ubisoft Montreal. The setting where the new adventure would take place was also leaked.
Alaska and snow scenes is what we would see in this new Far Cry, it would also adapt elements of an extraction shooter and mechanics such as permanent death, contract and the backpack system.
It would reach the consoles in the year 2025 and the specialists do not rule out seeing delays, as is usual in the developer house. The multiplayer could be the title that takes a little longer to arrive due to all the content that it will have. According to Henderson, it is speculated that this game will include old characters from the franchise.
