Saudi Arabia conditions its diplomatic ties with Israel on the creation of a State of Palestine

Jan. 20 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Saudi Arabian Foreign Ministry said Thursday that the establishment of formal diplomatic ties with Israel depends on an agreement to create a Palestinian state.

“We have constantly said that we believe that normalization with Israel is something that is very much in the interest of the region,” said the Saudi portfolio minister, Faisal bin Farhan, in statements to the Bloomberg agency.

“However, true normalization and true stability will only come through giving hope to the Palestinians, through giving dignity to the Palestinians. That requires giving the Palestinians a state, and that is the priority,” the president said. Foreign Minister.

On the other hand, Prince Faisal has stated that the United States remains Saudi Arabia’s main security partner, despite improving trade relations with China.

Regarding the war in Ukraine, the head of Saudi diplomacy has indicated that an end to it could be achieved “through negotiation”, as in the civil war in Syria, where he maintains that he is working with the countries of the region to find “a peaceful solution.

However, he has indicated that Riyadh is in talks with Moscow to keep the price of oil “relatively stable”, reports the aforementioned agency.
