The top commander of the National Liberation Army (ELN), Antonio García, reiterated on Monday, through his Twitter account, that there is a “crisis” at the dialogue table between the armed group and the Colombian government.
“There is a crisis at the Board because the procedure was breached and an alleged agreement that did not exist was made public. Errors and crises are not bad, they show that we are human and we are wrong,” García said, in a thread published on his social media
The commander referred to the announcement by the President of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, on December 31, about a ceasefire agreement with five armed groupsincluding the ELN. Nevertheless. The armed group says that this was never agreed.
The guerrilla leader also pointed out that what happened at the dialogue table will be reviewed, “in the presence of guarantors and permanent companions.”
The parties will meet this Tuesday, in an emergency meeting, in Caracas, to analyze the situation. In this regard, García alluded to his trill, pointing out that they trust that “it will turn out well.”
