Russian forces have reported the shooting down this Sunday at the last minute of a drone that was flying over a port of Sevastopol, on the Crimean peninsula.

“Air defenses shot down a UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) over a (Sevastopol) port. All services remain operational in standard mode,” detailed the governor of the Ukrainian city of Sevastopol, Mikhail Razvozhaeven, on his Telegram channel. .

Sevastopol, due to its strategic location, has been the target of several attempted Ukrainian drone strikes, the latest on January 7. There has been a “yellow” alert level in Crimea since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February last year.

In one of its ports is the headquarters of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, which has been the target of several drone attacks in recent months.
