Logan Paul recently did an auction of letters from Pokemon to get rid of more than 700 cards from your collection and get some extra money. This is because he recently spent $5,275,000 USD (more than $107 million pesos) on one of the rarest and most expensive cards in the franchise.

We are referring to Pikachu Illustrator, a commemorative card that was distributed in Japan as part of a contest. Its rarity is due to the fact that only 39 copies were printed. Logan Paul bought one of them in perfect condition, as she is a graduate and has a perfect grade.

The youtuber couldn’t stay away from the controversy, so he announced his plans to turn his Pikachu Illustrator letter into an NFT so he could “share” it with all comers.

Logan Paul will combine the TCG of Pokemon with NFT and there are angry fans

Paul acquired the extremely rare letter months ago after an arduous search that resulted in a payment of $5,275,000 USD in cash. Thanks to this, he obtained the Guinness World Record for the letter of Pokemon most expensive sold at private auction. Even the boxer and fighter showed off his card when he debuted at Wrestlemania.

Now he wants the card to be part of another one of his projects: Liquid Marketplace, an NFT platform he helped create. It is a project that combines non-fungible tokens with various types of collectibles and cryptocurrencies.

Once the Pikachu Illustrator PSA Grade 10 becomes an NFT, Paul will claim 49% ownership of the card. The rest will be available to the community and everyone interested will be able to “share” the card with Paul. As you can imagine, the content creator has received harsh criticism from collectors of Pokemonwho believe that the youtuber is ruining everything.

On the other hand, some people reminded Paul of the large sums of money he has lost investing in cryptocurrencies and NFTs. He was also pointed out for taking away the true value that he has in a card as rare as Pikachu Illustrator.
