STADIA will shut down for good next week and join the list of industry flops. Google decided to give its cloud gaming service a special farewell, so it surprised all its users with an unexpected gift: one last game to enjoy.
The title in question is Worm Game, an internal project that was very important for the development of the service. The reason? It was the title that Google used for internal testing before STADIA officially debuted. So it’s part of its history and now all users can play it for free.
On the other hand, Google also gave good news for those who have control of the service. The controller will not become a paperweight due to the lack of support for a Bluetooth connection, as the company is preparing something to keep it functional after the death of STADIA.

Google gives away a very important game for STADIA
Worm Game was launched today by surprise for free for all STADIA users. This is a very simple title, as it was created solely for internal testing. Now it came to light thanks to the fact that the days of the service are numbered. The title recovers the basic and fun concept of the iconic snake.
“Play the title that came to STADIA before STADIA came to the world. Worm Game it’s a humble title that we use to test many of STADIA’s features, from long before our public release in 2019, through 2022. It won’t win Game of the Year, but the Stadia team spent a LOT of time playing it, and we thought we’d share it with you guys. Thanks for playing and for everything,” Google wrote.

The STADIA controller will not become a paperweight
In case you don’t know, we tell you that the control that Google designed for STADIA debuted without Bluetooth support for PCs or mobiles. So it was destined to become a paperweight after the demise of the service.
Fortunately, players will have an alternative to keep the controller and not have a simple piece of plastic in their hands. Google confirmed that it will release a tool to enable wireless connection with such devices. This will occur sometime in the next week.
We’ve also got Bluetooth news: next week we’ll be releasing a self-serve tool to enable Bluetooth connections on your Stadia Controller.
