One of the creatives most excited about this project is Yoshimi Yasuda, who is in charge of production and who first broke the big news in mid-2022. Well, Yasuda has done his best to make the development transparent and He has kept in touch with the fans.

Juliet Starling will return with a redesign for the remake of Lollipop Chainsaw

The most interesting thing is that the director, producer and designer also shared an image in which Juliet Starling appears to thank the fans for their support, who soon realized that the design was not the same as the original.

Indeed, this is the first look at the redesigned 3D model of Juliet Starling, cheerleader for San Romero University and protagonist who embarks on a journey to rescue her boyfriend and half the world turned into a zombie.

Juliet Starling will be different in the remake of Lollipop Chainsaw

If you haven’t played the original 2012 game, you probably don’t know what Juliet Starling looked like and you might think that the model of Juliet you see above is fantastic; however, you should know that it is not the original.

In general it seems as if the redesign has less emphasis on the shadows and dark parts of the original material. This could draw attention to the final product, since it was one of the elements that the game used to recreate a comic visual style in conjunction with cel shading, which in the end was one of its strong and memorable points.

Honestly, except that it is slightly paler, the redesigned model would be the same if it weren’t for the face, which is the part that underwent substantial changes.

You can see the differences in the original design (left) and the renewed one (right) in the high definition image that we prepare for you below.

These are the differences of Juliet Starling in the remake of Lollipop Chainsaw

As you can see in the comparison, the skin, especially that of the face, loses texture and looks softer, as if the original was subjected to the FaceApp filter to soften features and reduce imperfections, which if used incorrectly can make it appear artificial. the skin. Precisely this softening eliminates the rosy cheeks of the original model.

Also, the contour of the face is less circular and more oval, something that can be noticed in a thinner or upturned chin. Dragami Games apparently also applied this refinement to the lips, which now look less full, and to the eyelashes, which will be shorter.

In case you missed it: fans believe that the remake of Lollipop Chainsaw could have some kind of censorship.

With the redesign, the studio would apparently bet on features that make Juliet look more kawaii, cute or cute, but at the same time presenting a model with a touch more realism (it can be seen in the cheerleader uniform top that is less shiny), which, as we told you, could contrast with the comic style of the original game.

As for Nick Carlyle, her boyfriend, there is no difference between the redesign and the original model.

It’s important to mention that we’re doing this review based on the only existing image of the Juliet Starling redesign, so we’ll have to wait and see how it will pan out to the final product and art style. We will keep you informed.
