The Ibex 35 traded with a rise of 0.20% in the mid-session this Wednesday, which led it to stand at 8,729.8 points, in a day with practically no references and transition pending the publication tomorrow of the IPC in the United States and the start of the results season in the American country.
The Renta 4 analysts point out that the appearance yesterday in Stockholm of the president of the Federal Reserve (Fed) of the United States, Jerome Powell, gave rise to few clues about the evolution of monetary policy in the country. Powell argued that “in the absence of an explicit mandate,” the US central bank should avoid implementing climate-biased policies and stick to its statutory goals so as not to compromise its independence in setting monetary policy.
In the mid-session, most of the stocks were trading higher, led by Solaria (+3.54%), Grifols (+2.78%), Meliá (+2.51%), Colonial (+2.39 %), Naturgy (+2.08%) and Acerinox (+1.55%).
On the other hand, the biggest fall was recorded by Bankinter, with a decrease of 1.40%, followed by CaixaBank, which lost 1.39% and Cellnex, which fell 1.23% after announcing that Tobias Martínez Gimeno He will leave his position as CEO in the company as of June 3.
The rest of the European stock markets were also trading with increases of 0.92% in Frankfurt, 0.78% in Paris, 0.55% in Milan and 0.53% in London.
Likewise, the price of a barrel of Brent quality oil, a reference for the Old Continent, stood at 80 dollars, with an increase of 0.54%, while Texas stood at 75 dollars, with an increase of 0. 33%
Finally, the price of the euro against the dollar stood at 1.0747 ‘greenbacks’, while the Spanish risk premium stood at 99 basis points, with the interest required on the ten-year bond at 3.247%.
