The Ukrainian Army has denied this Wednesday that the city of Soledar, a few kilometers from Bakhmut, is completely under the control of Russian forces, as announced by the Wagner Group. Serhiy Cherevaty, spokesman for the Ukrainian Armed Forces, has thus rejected these statements and has insisted that “it is not true that Soledar has fallen” completely. “Wait for the details included in the report from the Ukrainian Army,” she pointed out, as reported by the radio station Suspilne. The Department of Strategic Communications of the Armed Forces has questioned the authenticity of a series of photographs released by Russia and which would confirm the “capture of Soledar” by Russia. “It seems that the location they show does not correspond to reality and that they are not really the salt mines Soledar what appears in the images”, Serhiy Cherevaty pointed out before stressing that, with this information, Moscow could be trying to justify “the high losses among prisoners”. In this sense, the Ukrainian forces have released a series of photographs in which they show the mines in question without any presence of the Russian military, contrary to what the Russian Army had announced.
