The device motion pillowdeveloped by the Korean company 10mindsis a pillow capable of detect snoring thanks to machine learning that subsequently stops them by moving the person’s head while they sleepuntil an optimal position is found.
10minds is a technology company focused on the design of specialized products to “provide relaxation in the user’s life.” so, just as points out on their websiteis dedicated to smart health and beauty industry, including sleep care. For this reason, one of its objectives is the elimination of snoring, which is normally caused by the position of the body and head.
In this sense, one of the products that 10minds has led to CES from Las Vegas is motion pillow. This pillow-shaped device is Designed to find the user’s proper position to eliminate snoring while sleeping and improve the quality of sleep, both for the user and for the people who sleep around them.
For this, snoring is detected through a device external to the pillow that, during the first days of use, records and collects snoring through machine learning to analyze them and study the differences in sounds.
Once determines the patterns of the user and identify when snoring beginsthe pillow, which contains some cushions that inflate and deflate, gently move your head until you find the ideal position to stop snoring.
Likewise, when the pillow has taken effect and has stopped the snoring, the cushions deflate, returning the user to the normal position.
As they collect on their website, clinical trials with this pillow reflect that the 93.7 percent of users experienced a reduction in their snoring. In addition, Motion Pillow has been awarded the Innovation Award at CES 2023.
This pillow goes accompanied by an ‘app’ available for both Android as for iOS that shows the collection of sleep quality data registered. Among other things, it shows the hours of sleep, the different phases and sleep habits.
