Albert Ramos and Jaume Munar say goodbye in the first round of Adelaide and Auckland

10 Jan. () –

The Spanish tennis players Albert Ramos and Jaume Munar have lost in the first round of the Adelaida 2 (Australia) and Auckland (New Zealand) tournaments, both in the ATP 250 category and played on hard courts, after losing to the Australian John Millman (4 -6, 6-3, 7-6(6)) and Serbian Laslo Djere (3-6, 6-1, 7-6(4)), respectively.

Ramos, number 38 in the world, succumbed in a match that took almost three hours of play. The Catalan asserted his only break in the first set to take the lead in a match that the local tennis player also matched with a solitary ‘break’ in the second set.

Finally, the duel had to be decided in the ‘tie-break’ of the third, where Millman sealed his victory and his ticket for the second round. He will now face another Spaniard, Alejandro Davidovich from Malaga, seventh favorite in the ‘Aussie’ contest.

For his part, Munar did not take advantage of his early advantage against Djere either. The number 62 in the ATP ranking came back from 2-0 with which the Balkan stood out and won the first set by winning the last five games.

Two breaks in the second set allowed his adversary to balance the contest, which definitively settled on the Serb’s side in sudden death. Meanwhile, Pedro Martínez withdrew from the New Zealand tournament.
