Iranian authorities execute two other protesters from the protests for the young Mahsa Amini

7 Jan. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Iranian authorities have announced the execution this Saturday of two other demonstrators who participated in the protests against the death in September and in custody of the young Mahsa Amini for allegedly wearing the Islamic veil poorly.

Those executed, identified as Mohamed Mehdi Karami and Mohamed Hosseini, were convicted of the death of a security guard during one of the protests in November, according to the Iranian judicial agency Mizan.

With these executions, four protesters have been executed since the outbreak of the protests by the young Iranian Kurdish woman, which have shaken the country as it has not been seen in decades and have already left more than 470 dead, according to local NGOs.

The Iranian authorities, although they have acknowledged occasional excesses of force on some occasions, have assured that these protests have been fueled by “rioters” and foreign powers.

On the other hand, the Iranian Judiciary also announced this Saturday that the prominent photographer Yalda Moaiery has been sentenced to two months of community work for supporting the protests. Moaiery will work as a sweeper for two months in a women’s park and will have to write a 100-page essay on an Iranian cleric.

The verdict was communicated by the photographer herself through a message on the Instagram network, accompanied by an image in which she appears in an orange uniform during the performance of her punishment.

The sentence also prohibits her from leaving the country for the next two years, and she will not be able to use her mobile phone or social networks, nor reside in the capital, Tehran, during the same period of time.
