6 Jan. () –

The Polish authorities have reported this Friday that the Armed Forces will carry out training work for some 200,000 reservists in the middle of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

The spokeswoman for the country’s Military Recruitment Center, Yustina Balik, indicated in an interview with the PAP news agency that the plan includes the mandatory training of “a maximum of 200,000 Army reservists.”

Balik has indicated that these reservists have been previously selected for possible mobilization. In addition, he has explained that up to 3,000 reservists with no military experience may be included in the training group.

The Polish Army reserve includes people up to the age of 55, who are recognized as fit for service. However, “active reservists” are those ex-servicemen who undergo training for two days every three months.

Currently, the Polish forces have 164,000 troops, although the Government hopes to have up to 300,000 troops in total.
