Acer has announced two new Predator Helios gaming laptops that arrive with Windows 11, 13th-generation Intel Core processors and Nvidia GeForce RTX 40 Series graphics, along with two Predator monitors.
The technology company has highlighted the design of the Predator Helios 16 and Predator Helios 18 laptops and their improved thermal behavior, which in the latter case is supported by the double 5th generation AeroBlade 3D metal fan, the dissipation tubes in a rectangle arrangement for improve heat transfer, and a liquid metal thermal paste.
The Helios series debuts a case design with a matte black chassis, clean edges, and slim bezels. The rear of the laptops incorporates multiple ports and a customizable RGB light bar, which runs along the top of the rear vents.
The new design is complemented by a miniLED backlit keyboard with 1.8mm key travel and N-Key Rollover functionality to avoid the ‘ghosting’ effect, as the company has pointed out in a press release.
Both the Predator Helios 16 (PH16-71) and Predator Helios 18 (PH18-71) feature 13th Gen Intel Core processors (i9 or i7 HX), paired with a mobile Nvidia GeForce RTX 4080 GPU (up to 165W MGP), a configuration that allows you to experience realistic virtual worlds and increased performance with technologies such as ray tracing, high quality frame rate with DLSS 3 and the latency optimization Reflex system to gain a competitive advantage.
The two laptops also offer up to 32 GB of DDR5-4800 MHz RAM and up to 2 TB of capacity with PCIe Gen4 NVMe SSD storage in RAID 0. They come with a 16-inch screen size in the case of the Predator Helios 16 and an 18-inch one. on the Predator Helios 18, both in 16:10 format.
The two laptops offer different display options. For one thing, the Predator Helios 16 is available with a 165Hz or 240Hz WQXGA (2560×1600) display or a 250Hz MiniLED panel. For its part, Predator Helios 18 incorporates a WUXGA (1920×1200) screen at 165Hz, WQXGA (2560×1600) at 165Hz or 240Hz, or the MiniLED screen at 250Hz,
Predator laptops come with the Intel Killer E2600 Ethernet controller and support the Intel Killer Wi-Fi 6E AX1675 frequency band. They also feature a variety of ports: USB 3.2 Gen2, HDMI 2.1, USB Type-C Thunderbolt 4, and a MicroSD card reader.
Predator Helios 16 (PH16-71) will be available in Spain from February 2,399 euros and a month later Predator Helios 18 (PH18-71) will arrive from 2,499 euros.
PREDATOR X45 AND X27U MONITORS
Predator X45 is an ultra-wide, narrow bezel 45-inch UWQHD (3440×1440) 800R curved monitor. It is compatible with 98.5 percent of the DCI-P3 color gamut and is TÜV Rheinland EyeSafe certified.
Equipped with a DisplayPort 1.4 connector and two HDMI 2.0 ports, it is compatible with both PCs and consoles and sits on an adjustable metal stand. For its part, the Predator X27U 27-inch WQHD (2560×1440) flat panel monitor covers 98.5 percent of the DCI-P3 color gamut and is also TÜV Rheinland EyeSafe certified.
Both the Predator X45 and the Predator X27U have 240Hz refresh rates and a 0.01ms response time, which combines with AMD FreeSync Premium technology to deliver a smooth gaming experience. They also have a KVM switch to go from desktop to laptop, without having to change the keyboard or mouse.
The two monitors will be available in Spain from the second quarter, from 1,799 euros for the Predator X45 model and from 1,099 euros for the Predator X27U.
