It seems that the AMD Radeon RX 7900 Series problem with temperature goes beyond what is expected. We recently watched a video by overclocking expert Der8auer in which he concluded, without being able to elaborate, that the problem was in the steam chamber. It seems that he was right, since AMD has been communicating with manufacturers to clarify the origin of this excessive heating.
According to we read in Igor´s Lab the problem may be due to minimum amount of fluid in the vapor chamber that can raise the grades until 110 on the GPU and the vapor chamber causing them to work at a higher temperature than normal.
The number of cards with this problem it can be thousandswith several batches affected, which could raise this figure in the worst case to more than 10,000 units. Hundreds of end-customer cards have already been replaced, but a large number of cards have also been returned. Affected cards from manufacturers of pre-assembled PCs that they have even had to disassemble equipment to return the cards.
This problem seems to affect the most powerful model to a greater extent AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX in your reference model, although is also present to a lesser extent on AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT, but in this case a repair or replacement is not necessary. You also have to remember that only affects AMD reference models and not to the customized models of each manufacturer.
On the other hand, AMD is offering two solutions to this problem, the replacement of the graphics card with one that works correctly or the return of the money, although if you choose the change you will have to pay the return postage.
