() — Barbara Walters, legendary journalist and newscaster, has died, her spokeswoman Cindi Berger confirmed.

“Barbara Walters passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones, at her home. She lived her life with no regrets. She was a trailblazer not only for women journalists but for all women,” the statement read.

Walters was 93 years old.

Walters joined ABC News in 1976, becoming the first female anchor of an evening news program. Three years later she co-hosted “20/20” and in 1997 she released “The View,” according to information from the network.

During his career interviewed all the presidents and first ladies of the United States from Richard and Pat Nixon to Barack and Michelle Obama. He also managed interviews with Fidel Castro, a joint interview with Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin and Egyptian President Anwar Sadat, Michael Jackson and Monica Lewinsky.

She was nominated for Emmy Awards dozens of times and won the award several times. She also received three honorary awards.
