UK to require negative COVID-19 tests for travelers from China

Dec. 30 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The UK Department of Health and Social Care has confirmed this Friday that, as of January 5, passengers coming from China must present a negative coronavirus test carried out a maximum of 48 hours in advance.

The authorities have stressed that this measure is “precautionary and temporary”, and for the moment it will only be imposed in England, although Downing Street is now in talks with Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland to implement the same rules there, although not Have direct flights to China.

The United Kingdom thus joins the growing list of countries, including Spain, that are imposing access restrictions for passengers coming from China in response to the increase in infections in the Asian giant and the reduction of restrictions.
