Dec. 30 () –
The president of the United States, Joe Biden, has signed this Thursday a public spending bill of the government of 1.7 million dollars (1.6 million euros) that includes an additional aid package for Ukraine.
The president, who has ensured that this measure puts an “end to a year of historic progress”, has maintained that he expects more progress in 2023, as indicated in a message on the social network Twitter.
“He will invest in medical research, security, healthcare for veterans, disaster recovery, funding for the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) and obtain crucial assistance for Ukraine,” said Biden, who signed the bill during his vacation in the Virgin Islands.
The White House has stressed that this bill “promotes key priorities” for the country, considering that it is “good” for the country’s economy, competitiveness and communities.
“This bill is further proof that Republicans and Democrats can come together to deliver for the American people, and I look forward to continued bipartisan progress in the coming year,” Biden said after the bill passed Congress. .
