Today’s latest news about the Ukrainian-Russian war

Dec. 28 () –

The Armed Forces of Russia and Belarus have conducted joint training exercises on Belarusian territory for the sake of practicing tactical elements, the use of weapons, as well as engineering and medical skills.

This has been reported in a statement by the Russian Ministry of Defense, detailing that the Russian and Belarusian military have carried out an exercise in a training camp recapturing “a bridge controlled by a fictitious enemy”, as reported by Tass.

“In a training camp, the Belarusian and Russian military underwent joint combat training to practice tactical elements, weapons use, medical and engineering skills, as well as driving combat vehicles through difficult terrain,” he added. the ministry.

After the capture of the fictitious bridge, the troops of both countries have developed an offensive, “surrounding and destroying the enemy troops”.

This joint maneuver by Russia and Belarus comes one day after the latter announced the annulment of the security agreement signed with Ukraine that “allowed the control of military activities at a distance of 80 kilometers” from the border.

Likewise, the Belarusian authorities have recently reported the deployment of Russian equipment to Belarus in view of a possible offensive from its territory to Ukraine in the coming days. In addition, Minsk would also have transferred troops to the border area with Ukraine, in the south.

Russian President Vladimir Putin traveled to Belarus last week to meet with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, who said after the meeting that Moscow and Minsk are willing to talk with Europe, to which he has appealed to “listen to the voice of the reason”. Belarus, an ally of Moscow, has allowed the deployment of the military on its territory to support the offensive.

Given this, Ukraine has called on the country’s population to dismiss Russian propaganda” and reject the information and accusations from Russia about a possible “invasion” from Belarusian territory.

“The answer to all this is easy, it is based on the preparation of our Armed Forces. Listen only to official spokespersons (…) The enemy wants to make us nervous for the holidays, and we must not give him the opportunity to succeed “Ukrainian presidential adviser Darina Zarivna said last week.

The Russian president ordered the start of the invasion of Ukraine days after recognizing the independence of the self-proclaimed republics of Donetsk and Lugansk, located in the Donbas region (east) and the scene of a conflict since 2014. Moscow announced in September the annexation of these regions and those of Kherson and Zaporizhia, partially occupied in the context of the conflict.
