Dec. 27 (EUROPA PRESS) –
Indian police are investigating the death of sausage tycoon and Russian MP Pavel Antov, a critic of Russian President Vladimir Putin, who apparently jumped from the third floor of a three-star hotel in Odisha state.
As reported by the Police, the death of the Russian oligarch occurred after a fellow traveler of his, Vladimir Budanov, 61, died days earlier, on Thursday, after suffering a heart attack. “(Pavel) was depressed after his death and he also died on December 25,” he said.
In this sense, the Indian authorities have opened an investigation to determine if Pavel committed suicide or “accidentally” fell off the hotel terrace, according to various Indian media.
Antov, who appeared on the list of the richest Russians compiled by Forbes in 2018, was the founder of the Vladimir Standard group of companies from Vladimir Oblast, 190 kilometers from the capital, Moscow. In his post as a deputy to the Russian Duma, he served as chairman of the Committee on Agrarian Policy, Environmental Management and Ecology.
