Five technological trends in education for 2023

Technology became one of the greatest opportunities for the educational sector, since it has been proven that it is an instrument that promotes the creativity and immersion of students and encourages the development of new teaching methodologies. This issue is much more relevant considering that the Covid-19 pandemic left one of the worst crises in the classroom as a result.since learning poverty increased by a third in low- and middle-income countries, where an estimated 70% of 10-year-olds cannot currently understand a simple text, according to the latest report published by the Bank World.

However, the positive thing is that this context also allowed accelerating the growth of EdTech around the world, who are currently in charge of developing technologies, applications and tools, which are applied to the structures and activities of the educational system in its various fields and levels.

These -says Nicolás Giménez, CEO and co-founder of fidu, the startup that provides digital solutions to educational institutions in Latin America-, manage to generate great advantages in education, allow the exploration of new knowledge; encourage the use of playful gamification activities that increase understanding and comprehension; provide autonomy, boost creativity and optimize administrative processes “among a host of other things”.

And it is that the rise of EdTech within the educational ecosystem has been so strong that, according to a report by Grand View Research, The global market for this industry was valued in 2020 at US$89.490 million and is estimated to have a compound annual rate of 19.9% ​​until 2028, when it will reach US$377.850 million.

And although in 2023 we will find the application of new digital tools in institutions, it will also be a year full of challenges to spread, democratize and promote the use of these tools in schools”indicated the CEO of fidu.

Taking this into account, Giménez decided to publicize the five trends in technologies that will be essential in Latin American schools by 2023:

1. Artificial Intelligence (AI): Although this is a topic that has already been discussed in other industries, AI will be one of the great tools in the sector, since its integration with other technologies will allow understanding and adapting education to the student, helping in the future it may be possible to talk about hyperpersonalization in teaching. This way, children can explore their lessons at a comfortable speed and reduce the frustration that comes with traditional teaching methods; while teachers do not have to spend their time reviewing some exams, since this process can be done automatically by the AI.

2. 100% personalized apps for the school community: Standardized platforms no longer work. In a time of change, fidu gives schools the possibility of having a custom app with the name, logo and identity of their institution to provide a differential experience to their community of parents, students, teachers and administrators.
