This Friday, December 23, the Minister of Education, Marco Ávila, officially announced the new head of the General Education Division (DEG) of the Ministry of Education, Andrea Osorio, who to date was the director of Learning for the Future of Fundación Chile (FCH).
In this role, Osorio led initiatives that aim at an educational transformation through the use of innovative methodological approaches such as Project-Based Learning (ABP) and Deep Learning, which propose a leading and collaborative role for teachers and students, to promote a inclusive education.
Hernan Araneda, general manager of Fundación Chile, appreciated his appointment and thanked Osorio for his commitment and contribution to the organization and to the country through the Learning for the Future area: “Andrea is a professional with extensive experience in leadership and educational improvement, with a Deep knowledge of the challenges facing our educational system and with great capacity to manage innovative initiatives to impact the learning of girls, boys and young people. Her incorporation into the ministry team is timely due to the learning gaps and lags that require urgent action at the level of the entire school system,” she stated.
In a special way, Araneda valued his contribution and leadership in emblematic initiatives of the organization, such as Educarchile and Red de Escuelas Líderes.
Andrea Osorio is a teacher and Master in Education. She has experience from the public and private sectors in the promotion and execution of educational innovation projects. In her work history, her role as head of the support area for the Policy for the New Public Education, Training of Intermediate Leaders of the PUCV Educational Leaders Leadership Center stands out. Likewise, to date she held the position of head of the Innovative Training line of the Center for Educational Leadership + Community.
«They have been years of intense learning at Fundación Chile, always in search of innovative and relevant solutions for the development of our country, being able to share with professionals from different areas, as well as with various State institutions and civil society. Today, I make them available to this great challenge that we have as a country, to recover learning and give more and more meaning to the school experience, “said the new head of the DEG.
Osorio assumes the role of Daniela Eroles and one of her main challenges is to materialize the policies emanating from the Ministry of Education in concrete and specific support for the educational communities, thus advancing in the recovery of learning.
