Turkey says it "seems" that the Russia-Ukraine war "will not end easily"

Dec. 24 () –

The Government of Turkey has affirmed this Saturday that “it seems” that the war between Russia and Ukraine “will not end easily” and has stated that “it is likely” that “it will continue in 2023”.

“The support of the United States, Europe and the West (to Ukraine) continues. Thus, there are preparations, plans and money that are being included in the budgets. On the other hand, there are the statements of Russia,” said the Turkish Defense Minister , Hulusi Akar.

“When we add everything up, it is not wrong to say that this war is likely to continue in 2023, despite our good intentions and our desire for a ceasefire and peace,” he stressed, as reported by the Turkish newspaper. ‘Sabah’.

Turkey has carried out mediation work and even mediated with the United Nations for the signing in July of an agreement between Ukraine and Russia on the export of grain from Ukrainian ports. Likewise, it has hosted a meeting between the foreign ministers of both countries, although it did not bear fruit.
