El Chavo had a strong impact on Mexican popular culture and other Latin American countries. The creations of Roberto Gómez Bolaños, better known as Chespirito, have also passed through the world of video games. The best known is El Chavo Kartbut there are also collaborations with franchises like FIFA, Fortnite and soon it will also do it with Fall Guys. Now, the best-known inhabitant of the neighborhood will give virtual reality a pass with The neighborhood of El Chavo Dport, developed by dPōrt, Nmerso and Viroo. This immersive journey can be visited at the Pepsi Center.
The experience that its developers define as “Phygital” will allow us to tour the neighborhood of El Chavo and get to know some iconic places, such as Don Ramón’s house or take a look at El Chavo’s barrel. In total there are 270 square meters where we will find characters like Popis, Kiko and even Chapulín Colorado. The interesting thing is that, by putting on the visor, we will become Churruminos, imaginary beings similar to flies.
The route of approximately 60 minutes is free, although we have the objective of finding the chiquitolina pills of the Chapulín Colorado or contemplating the interactive environments, if we prefer. As in any experience of this type, we will be able to appreciate the details more closely and also explore and interact with some objects. For example, you can open drawers, take tools and search every corner of the place. The difference in this world is that some objects will have a counterpart in the real world, this will allow us to feel some textures and have both realities present in the journey.
In addition to the virtual experience, we will be able to visit additional spaces that will take us on a walk through the history of Chespirito with memorabilia and a transmedia compilation of El Chavo.
