1st joint meeting of the Finance and Health working groups

The 1st Joint Meeting of the Finance and Health Working Group (JFHTF) under the Indian G20 Presidency was held virtually on December 20, 2022.

The meeting was attended by representatives of Finance and Health from the G20 and invited countries, as well as international organizations. The meeting was co-chaired by Italy and Indonesia.

The Bali 2022 Leaders’ Declaration expanded the mandate of the Task Force to continue collaboration between the Ministries of Finance and Health for Pandemic Prevention, Preparedness and Response.

The 1st JFHTF allowed discussion of the mandates specified in the Bali Leaders’ Declaration.

India Hosts First G20 Finance and Central Bank Deputies Meeting

The Task Force Secretariat collaborated with the Indian Presidency and the Italian and Indonesian Co-Chairs to draft the work plan for 2023 and beyond, which was built around the Indian Presidency’s Global Health Priorities for 2023. The plan of work was presented for approval during the meeting.

Members expressed their commitment to the mandate of the Task Force to contribute to strengthening the global health architecture for pandemic prevention, preparedness and response and to work with the Secretariat and the Co-Chairs towards the achievement of the targets by 2023.
