July 7. (Portaltic/EP) –
Manzana is working on a ruggedized ‘smartwatch’ model aimed at users who practice extreme sports, which will have greater autonomy for their training sessions and a larger screen.
The Cupertino company is studying the marketing of three smart watches this year, as analyst Ming Chi Kuo announced at the end of last year in a note for investors collected by MacRumors.
Specifically, the specialist indicated that the new series of Apple Watch would be made up of three models: Apple Watch Series 8a new Apple Watch SE and a third watch, designed for extreme sports.
In relation to the latter, Bloomberg analyst Mark Gurman has confirmed that Apple plans to launch a ‘smartwatch’ with “the largest screen to date, a larger battery and a resistant metal case.”
This new smart watch, which will be announced later this year, along with the other two models, will be a rugged version of the Apple Watch and its screen will be about 7 percent larger than the Apple Watch Series 7.
Due to this size, Gurman believes that Apple can take advantage of this larger surface area to display more information and metrics related to training.
Likewise, the analyst has revealed that the panel of this ‘wearable’ will have a resolution of about 410 x 502 pixels and will preserve the general sharpness of current models and will have greater autonomy to adapt to long periods of training.
As he announced a few days ago, Gurman has indicated that this model will include the ability to measure sudden changes in the user’s temperature and detect if he has a fever and will integrate improvements in metrics such as the one that measures the elevation of the terrain during hiking sessions.
Gurman has pointed out that the three new Apple smartwatch models will use S8 processorswhich anticipate a performance similar to the S7 chip currently incorporated in the Apple Watch Series 7.
It should be remembered that the announcement of a new Apple smart watch more geared towards extreme sports would coincide in time with the arrival of watchOS 9, the new version of the operating system, which the manufacturer presented at the beginning of last month within the framework of the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC).
Then, the chief operating officer of Apple, Jeff Williams, indicated that watchOS 9 would take the Apple Watch experience “to another level thanks to information based on scientific evidence about the physical activity, the quality of sleep and the cardiovascular health of users. “.
